No, absolutely not. We have made it very easy for anyone to update
the text of their pages; create portfolios and add, change, delete
images in those portfolios. A detailed, indexed help file will tell
you everything you need to know.
We can enable your site for E-commerce so you can sell your images
as digital downloads or prints (you do the printing and shipping).
All you need to do is set up an account with a merchant account
service provider. We recommend the following merchant account providers:
No. Photographers generally want to control the quality of their
prints. With our application you can easily manage online orders,
including real-time shipping rates with UPS or USPS. If you plan
to sell prints, we will set this up for you.
Profolio has integrated support for accepting credit cards,
purchase orders, e-checks and phone or fax orders. In order to accept
credit cards you will need to establish a merchant account with
a bank or sign up with a third party processing service. Your own
merchant account allows you to clear payments and actually put the
credit card payments into your account. If you want to process the
cards real-time, you will also need payment gateway services with
a network provider in order to automatically transmit information,
as well as a SSL certificate to secure data. If you are using third
party processing you don’t need your own gateway or SSL certificate.
For expected monthly turn-over of less than $1000 we recommend third
party processing services, since they incur low or no set-up fees
and no minimum monthly charges.
Profolio supports all major gateways and third party processing
services (e.g. 2Checkout.com, Paypal, Wells Fargo SecureSource).
Buyers or customers create a Client Account at your site during
checkout. They can then access their account at any time with a
username and password, view invoices and update their information.
Using the Web Manager, you can create custom portfolios only accessible
to a certain client, or leave files for your client to download.

There is no limit to the number of portfolios or images you can
have on your site. If you need more storage space or bandwidth than
is allocated on your current plan, contact customer service.
Yes. profolio.us provides a secure socket layer for encryption
of all your data while using our application. Data are encrypted
at 128 bits. If you are using e-commerce, your merchant account
service provider will encrypt your data. Only if you are processing
credit cards yourself, you will need an SSL certificate to secure
your data (see below).
Only if you are using your own merchant account. If you sign up
with a merchant account provider, they will encrypt your clients’
payment data for you. profolio.us provides a secure socket
layer for encryption of all your other data while using our application.
Yes. If you have your own merchant account and want to charge your
clients yourself, all you need is a Secure Socket layer for your
site to encrypt your client’s data. We will take of the integration
and setup for you.
Yes. You can share the responsibility of site maintenance, client
relations, promotion, order processing and general management by
creating User Accounts for your staff and allowing them to use the
online Web Manager.
Our Windows 2003 servers are equipped with dual Xeon processors
from 2 GB. All our applications use ASP.NET. We are licensed by
Microsoft to provide digital rights management with Windows Media.
Profolio includes standard web logs to check the performance
of your web site and traffic. For $1 a month we provide full
web statistics Reports.
